When someone talked to me about engaging in ‘aimless activities’, not knowing whether to laugh or cry I simply ignored the fact. Then I understood its subtle meaning: it is not just a matter of distracting the mind but of re-educating the priorities. To the peaks of greater wellness I do not access rationally, but with the fierce involvement of all the senses in suspending every temporal and emotional judgment. A music to which I abandon myself, possibly classic, possibly coming into resonance with colors. I can also not choose them first when I’m about to paint, but surely there is a structure of preference with the melody I’m listening to. They tell the story I like to trust.
