The work lends itself to various meanings, all linked to the concept of freedom. Freedom always exists in relation to other parameters, it is never exercised in the pneumatic vacuum and has nothing to do with the absence of rules.
The Statue of Liberty, the crown of Jesus, the crown of Queen Elizabeth, the Covid-19 crown worn by a woman belonging to the Muslim religion: it provokes reflections on the concept of freedom and false freedom, especially in this historical moment.
Are we Western women more free to express ourselves than women who wear the veil?
This work of art is the expression of an apparent oxymoron: the Statue of Liberty and the Muslim.
For the Western woman it is normal and almost necessary to show herself to others but for a Muslim woman, being in some cases almost totally covered, only her eyes become the vehicle of freedom, as in the act of taking a selfie.
